I'd been looking for one of these for some time,a Centaure 600,circa early 1960's.This one functions well but the spool is a bit shabby with significant paint loss.This morning I dipped the spool in some strong paint stripper for 20 minutes that did nothing at all.Perhaps a similar paint formula that early Mitchell's used (IE Titanium reinforced carbon carbon with diamond particulates).

I like that Russell. It has something of the look of a Mitchell 304 in my eyes.....

I'm a bit peeved about the immovable paint.Solution ? Find a better one.

Crikey I've got 20 Centaure reels with another on it's way.A fine line between 'Hobby' and 'Addiction' I think.
