I remember one of our pals having a partitioned Elastoplast 'Tackle Tin' when we were kids.
Those of us with just toffee or baccy tins were very envious!
I came across one at a car boot a while back and, like you, couldn't resist buying it.
Not quite as old or posh as yours, but ideal for my collection of interesting old leads.
I quoted something from Angling - Coarse Fish (1938) by L. W. Clark the other day on another topic. Here are his words of wisdom on tins:
"I need hardly tell you to save all the likely tins you come across; you will do that by instinct. They come in handy for jack tackle, spinners and all sorts of odds and ends".

Recycling was the norm in the old days. I had little tins which once held gramaphone needles, they were perfect for hooks and shot. A baccy tin held four needle tins perfectly. Haha.

The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!
