Having just been accepted on this Forum, I thought that other members should know that I hail from Bexleyheath (Kent - originally) but have lived in Wales, on and off, since 1980. Capel Iwan is near Newcastle Emlyn and is therefore sandwiched between the rivers Towy and Teifi. These are spate rivers, noted for their runs of Sewin (Sea Trout) and so “fluff chucking” is the Order of the Day. However, there are quite a few man-made coarse fisheries around but, of course, carp rule almost everywhere.

I use my Constable ‘44’ but only if I can be certain that one of those 20lb “hooligans” isn’t in my swim.

I expect you'll remember the 'good old days' Ian, when you could still catch decent chub from the Darent where it ran alongside Horton Kirby by the Sun Inn.

It's probably aptly named now, as I 'daren't' go back there either! (Some things better left to fond memory).
