Another great read

Post by Troydog »

Local fishing buddy dropped this amazing book through my letter box. Luke Jennings was born in 1953, so he grew up and started fishing about the same time as many TFF members. His exceptional book is called ‘Blood Knots’ and it is a memoir of angling and history and war, it is about fishing and friendship. He writes in a beautiful language about affection, loss, memory and place. You are there with him in tales about canals, rivers, ponds and lakes.
Highly recommended.
Trouble is, the fish just don't read the books......

Thank you , just ordered one ,£2.68, it was the mention of a search for giant pike that done it for me.

I read this at the beginning of my sabbatical in April last year. Super book. I may well pick it up again in April this year thanks to this reminder.

The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!

I also love a TFF recommendation Bayleaf - they never disappoint !! But this is such an extraordinary book that I am starting to read it again, cover to cover. I do hope that everyone who gets this book receives as much, or more pleasure.
Very best,
Tim
