My Grandson has shown an interest in carp fishing!!!!! I would like to start him off in the way I started, small fish in wonderful surroundings. I see Mapperley has several lakes in the area and is only an hour or so from me. What one would you suggest for a young lad to catch his first carp on a float? Other advice would be grateful?

How old is your grandson? Any experience?
The best advice I was given was "Don't plan to fish yourself"
Plan to sit next to your lad and talk him through what needs to be done and why.
That first experience will stay with you both for a long time.
I still remember my first pike spinning trip, with my grandfarther,on a northern Irish lock 40 years ago.

He is just 12.

Anyone know any of the lakes I've mentioned? Help Advice please?
