My day pass went swimmimgly .

Post by Robbi »

Well chaps, as my previous post told,i had a day pass today :)

The day started beautifully, blue sky, sunshine, no rain forcast so we'd stay dry for a change.

I picked up my partner in crime at 08:30 and we headed out for the short drive to this new little half acre farm pond that neither of us had fished before, when we arrived it looked perfect :)

This was my chosen swim for the day and what a slippery customner this turned out to be !!

Within 10 minutes of arriving, my car looked like this...........

yep, i went in ! right up past my waist :Cursing: thankfully my oppo was there to pull me out :Thumb: Luckily i had my quilted over suit in the car and i was able to strip off and wear that untill the sun dried my cloths (ALL of them ! ) over the next 6 hours or so.

On with the fishing ! :)

it really was a lovely place, secluded, quiet, pretty and the fish were biting, now, someone on here posted what they thought was the smallest carp they had seen, well, i reckon i can beat that :) this is what our day consisted of, lots of dinky fish :) perfectly formed fish :)

these little lads provided entertainment all day, i think the biggest was a half pound tench, but so what ? we had fun :)

I started of with the split cane and centre pin but my bad day just continued with tangle after tangle and it reached the point where i had had enough and swopped reels to my Altex and things got much better :) I think i need a lot more centre pin practice !

this little chap stuck around all day and made a feast of the bit of bread i threw for him :) cute chap.......( just enlarge the photo :) )

so, all in all, a bit of a wet start  but it turned out a great day and i thoroughly enjoyed myself :)

Nothing like throwing yourself into your hobby, Sir !!!

I hope that the rod didn't disappoint, and that you have many more such 'great days.'

Well done Robbi, What a loverly little Tincaling!!
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

A nice day out despite the ducking. I suspect most of us have done it (up to my waist at least 3 times).
