found on maggotdrowners - guy had found a rodrill, this was a reply
"I was investigating 'Rodrill' on the web as my mum used to be the book keeper there approx 40 years ago and we wondered what happened to the company. Unfortunately I cant find that out but I can tell you that the factory was in Tottenham, at the end of a cold de sac. There were no health & safety laws as such then and I remember, as a child, playing in the factory around the machinery etc. The 'eyes' were put on almost by hand then varnished over - this was done by 2 women (Mable and someone) in a detached hut at the back of the factory. I used to help with this so who knows the rod you are discussing may have had my help in it. I have fond memories of the company - shame they no longer exist. Three men that ran it were Fred & Alf Williams and Bob Draper. Hope that's gives you enough history to decide whether to keep it or not. "
