Hi guys, how suitable would we say an Avon rod is for spinning? I have a FT Williams Foravon, 10' 2", looks like a mark IV, no idea of the test curve (in fact I don't even know what test curve means). I have a few spinning rods including a Hardy LRH No2 and a Scottie Breamar but both of these feel a bit heavy for the small to medium pike that I usually connect with.... .....any ideas?

No reason not to use one for spinning. The MkIVs were designed for casting, and I've used both my Carp and Avon in such manner.

The MkIV Avon had a 1lb test-curve, implying a maximum casting weight of 1oz and line-strengths between 4 and 8lb b.s. At 10' 2", it's a bit longer than conventional spinning rods, but so what? If it's suitable for the waters you fish, and the fish you expect to catch, go ahead!
