Rediscovered these today whilst searching for a needle to repair my folding stool.Image
Confirmation that they were needle makers before makers of hooks.

They did some quality fishing gear too, the needle museum in Redditch is worth a visit when we have got rid of the pestilence.

My Mum told me she was given them new by her family when she left home to train as a nurse in about 1950. Apparently, moving from Wallasey to Southport was equivalent to a trip to the moon.

Mum gave them to me when I left home for college in 1980. Wallasey to Lancaster didn’t seem so bad! I’m still using them!

I could only hazard a guess to their age but they belonged to my grandmother and are still as sharp as a new pin.(or should that be needle!)
