Amazing how quickly so many things change. It’s very hard to keep up with it all. At least the river stays the same, and the Thames might even be cleaner today than it was in grandads day.....
Trouble is, the fish just don't read the books......

I too thought of Walton - definitely a non-tidal section - fishing at the rejoining of the Desborough Cut and the Thames having flowed through Shepperton. Used to cycle/motorbike/car upstream to the Cut from Twickenham for my barbel fishing - over quite a few years!

Allegedly the area now has some very big catfish to be caught.
