Waistcoats

Post by Old Man River »

How many on TFF wear waistcoats ?

I have been casually looking around for a nice tweed waistcoat for a while now, today, I had a bit of a "windfall" ...not exactly tweed, and not exactly sure about it , it was a gift from a friend, please do give comment, good, bad or
otherwise ? :Chuckle:

I am looking for a new fishing waistcoat on the grounds that my exiting one is 25 years old and falling apart. However, OMR, my advice would be to give the one in your picture A very wide berth, for all sorts of reasons......
Trouble is, the fish just don't read the books......

My opinion would be that it is the sort of design an American would wear !!!

:laugh1: :laugh1:

It has Pike on it, and Perch, and a badly executed Barbel, some Rainbow Trout, a Brown Trout, and I think it is made from some curtain or cushion covering .... I am still open to suggestions Troydog, but so far am heavily in favour of yours . :Thumb:

Having not one pocket is your saviour David - it means you cannot store anything in it - THANK GOODNESS!
Your local charity shop MAY take it. :Hahaha:

That's the sort of material that's prone to getting caught up in the washing machine and gets irreparably damaged :eyebrow:

I'd be looking at the likes of John Norris, Uttings etc for a tweed number. I won't comment on the one pictured!

Thanks for the constructive imput so far gents....... must admit I do agree with all comments . 🤣🤣

SWMBO took one look at it and said something akin to....."Just go and buy a decent one " which I think is probabpy the way forward, in the mean time it has been washed and is now drying on a clothes horse, sadly she did not manage to shrink it , or damage it Harry .
