Finally got one
Not exactly fishing but related , for years I have been searching for another item apart from poles and rods made by the Sowerbutts family and today have finally got in my possession a gentleman's cane made by my great grandfather in 1921 , he was the last of the family to work in cane from his Old Ford premises in Bow ,East London . Will still keep searching for the elusive umbrella that the family also made . The cane has taken pride of place alongside the families rods and pole .

Well done on your acquisition, Sir.

Yes please try and upload a picture or two Ken, it would be great to see it. If you cant manage the pictures, is it whole cane or built cane and what is the handle made of ?

Hi Wal think I have managed to upload the photo but just in case the cane is approx 15mm Ida made with whole cane having a bent handle with silver collar and silver end with hallmark ,the tip has a brass cap . I think its purely a dress cane because of its thickness

That looks a quality stick Ken, I would half expect it to hold a fine blade inside.
The (man cave) backdrop by the way looks very inviting, I imagine some very good tales being told in there, "another drop sir" "oh don't mind if I do" chink..
