Gord,

Could you cut away the corks on either side, and then cut a new thin shive in half and glue each half into the gap?

my repair is now done and it is back to the condition it was but I think the handle has been repaired before as it has a piece of fibre glass inserted into a broken aluminium tubing and an old ferrule on top of the glass which answers the question as to why it bent right through in the first place so now I will have to take it easy as in my mind I can see no reason why It wont happen again but at the moment its fine as I have given it a good test with the capture of a 15 pound carp but time will tell
