Quinette MK9

Here,s a few photo,s of a rod i bought a few days ago.
The details of the rod are:
Chapman Quinette MK9
8 foot long
1 3/4lb tc
22in handle
50in butt section
48in tip section
late 50,s early 60,s
The word quinette and mk9 are written in ink

nice, a spinning rod by the look of the butt guide but a nice stalking rod too no doubt :thumb:

I think Chapmans liked those big butt rings..they put them on a lot of rods, the 500 for instance.

my 500 came with aqualites tip and butt, but i know many had these, the Quinette Mk8 that's on it's way to me has one too but it may get changed during the rebuild as i have a nice 20mm one waiting for a suitable rod, depends how good a condition it is, if it looks like yours I'll keep it as is

Chapman 500 De-Luxe supplied in same format as the above rod but having Aqualite butt and end ring with chrome intermediates, and divisional cloth bag.

i know but mine wasn't a deluxe, no copper windings and one less guide, rebuilt to deluxe spec now though and those copper windings look lovely :wink: a lot of variation in spec between rods through the years, all 3 of my FJT's were Different as are my Hunters and the Mk8 is different to the specs that used to be on the website that have now gone, anyone that has a copy it would be greatly appreciated :thumb:
