Greetings! Welcome to the TFF!
Looking forward to reading some fishing stories!

Btw, that's quite a Tench! And I bet the Muskie was a dream to catch!
Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing it is not the fish they are after.

Thank you for allowing me join traditional Angler’s. I am from Longmeadow, Massachusetts, across the pond in the US of A. I grew up flyfishing for trout in rivers and streams. About five years ago, on a cold winters night, while searching youtube, I found Passion for Angling, and my fishing changed forever. I became a Chris Yates junkie, got my hands on every book I could afford, Passion for angling, Secret Carp, The lost Diary and How to Fish. Also became a big admirer of Fennel Hudson’s views on traditional angling being a mind set, a “state of being” rather than state of tackle being used. Also just purchased and finished reading, three times, Wild Carp. Which I believe to be a modern classic to rival BB, Yates and Venerable. So, I am a traditional Angler. Cane float rods are not available over here, cannot afford one from the UK. I fish a cheap fiberglass 12’ float rod that I spiced up with some guide enhancements, added a British Flag sticker, fish a cheap center pin reel from eBay (fish off the top, by the way). I make my own reed waggler floats and fish bait on hook. I dress as a traditionalist, brown corduroys, suspenders, flat hat etc. So, other than the non cane rod, I am a traditional angler in mind set and in heart. Thank you for admittance and May your floats disappear and your lines be tight. Sincerely, Old Yankee
