My A. E Rudge "Derwent", as I bought it. I'm undecided as to its future. To restore or not to restore....? Perfectly fishable as it is, just not very pretty. at 12ft 3 inches perhaps a little longer than I'd usually use. Nice spigoted ferruls and an interesting detail to the end of the handle.

Not sure yet, Stuart. I've got to at least take her out on a date yet, just to see if there's any chemistry between us. To see if I fall head over heels....

I'd leave it. It looks pretty good from the pics!

I'm certainly won over. Lovely looking rod.

Yes I might leave it as it is completely sound. All the other rods in my rack have been restored.... some might say "over" restored, so it's nice to have at least one old, un-tampered with, war horse.

A fine looking rod, Sir.

Hi Haydn,
Your rod has a lovely 'patina' and it looks very well cared for by its previous owner/s so I would leave well alone, once you start restoration there is no return ! its rather like good antique furniture far better left alone when in good sound condition, after all the fish don't know the difference ! and I'm sure yours will soon be flexing itself.
