rodrill expert advice required

Post by Danny Boy »

hello gents,
purchased this rod and would be very grateful for any info on it.
its a 3 piece 13ft long ,the handle is 21" long ,its as straight as a die just the slight droop at the tip end due to its length.
buy the look of it i'd say it has had very little use due to the fact the ferrules are nice and clean and tight and the varnish has no chips or scratches ,the rod appears to be untouched ,the eyes are stand offs with just the first and tip eye have clear inserts, the whipping looks like the original as well.

Sorry I cannot give you any information on your rod , but , I presume that it's hollow built otherwise it would be totally unwealdy . Looks a fine acquisition indeed .

Rodrill rods are usually quite heavilly-built, somewhat like Marco ones...it does indeed look unrestored, though that tip eye has already been re-soldered once and it's clearly so bent it might not stand straightening without weakening.

I'd not heard of one of their rods at 13 feet before. An early rod....early Sixties they started giving them names, usually bird's names.
