Forget the wife/girlfriend and raise a toast!

Post by RBTraditional »

Forget all those valentines shenanigans, wives and girlfriends (or both if you’re that unlucky) can wait.... raise a toast to the great Bernard Venables who would have been 113 today!

Cheers Bernard

Perhaps in future a Feb 14th memorial fish in. Not a bloody rose or commercial scam in site :Chuckle:

Thank you Mr Crabtree; you are the reason I live where I do, and have done for forty years.....

I was sadly never privileged to meet the great man but I often think of him when I’m down on the Romney Marsh where he spent his formative years and discovered the delights of angling as a young boy....

I never met him either RBT but his description of perch fishing on the Wye, page 95, was the inspiration for my visit to Hereford in 1978. I am delighted to report that Mr Crabtree's findings in the 1950's are still valid today.....
