MK 1V Avon

Post by LuckyLuca »

A bit of a result today. Lurking in the bowels of "that place" I found a job lot of tackle for sale and only a few miles from home. Genuinely found in the attic of a house bought to renovate this rod very nearly ended up in a skip.

A late good usable and I believe rare? Davenport and Fordham MK1V Avon.

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Well done LL
I was offered one myself on Sunday while looking at some other tackle it came with a bent James Carp but the seller wouldn't sell it separately plus I wasn't really sure of its worth having never seen one before. Certainly looked a nice bit of cane although wasn't sure about the rings but looking at yours it seems to have been correct.

It looks good, the handle especially so. At first glance the ringing pattern looks a bit spartan to me but what a find.
