Priory rod. But what is it?

There's a Priory rod whizzing it's way to me, fresh off the bay. Did I say fresh? Nah, it's in a bit of a state which might explain why I was the sole bidder and nabbed it for less than a round of drinks.

Anyways, it looks like it was supposed to be 11', both the butt and middle section are whole cane, and the tip section is whole cane with a spliced built cane section. Looks like a roach/match rod to me. Does anyone know what it might be called?

It'll be a restoration project for the winter. Looks like the built tip section is short so I'll reaplice in a new piece.

I have just restored a Priory Avon style rod for my wife that is all split cane. If yours turns out anything like hers did I am sure that you will be a happy chap. It is a delight to use.

Looking through this section it appears to be a rare find. Has anyone seen one like this before? Possibly a bespoke match/ roach rod.
