Morden Competition

Post by OldRod »

Hello all
Can anyone tell me anything about this rod please? Is it any good? (Ignoring the condition - just the rod itself)
Many thanks in anticipation

That would be a Mordex, a Sheffield company. They were known for engineering so rods may well have been bought in from other manufacturers.

It is a Black Seal rod, made in Czechoslovakia in the late 60's early 70's. They are usually a little "beefy".
If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.
