Yes. An excellent free running bargain of a reel to get started.
Edit - in fact, it was my first centrepin for trotting, just remembered!

I have 2 of the older silver coloured 'Lewtham' type reels - excellent for trotting!

Re: lewtham leeds centrepin for trotting
I had one. The nut on the backplate keep falling off. Iirc it was my second pin, from Bennett's Of Sheffield. No problem trotting with it though, it galloped away.
I did think of getting one as a dedicated barbel pin with 8-10lb b.s line, but a TF Gear Free Flow came up at the right price. That's also a very free running reel. I've also read good things about the TF Gear Classic as a trotting reel, I used it for canal fishing and had no problems with it at all.
The Marco Cortesi Mk2 which was black with red flashings was an absolute steal when Dragon Carp were selling them for around £30. It also comes with a detachable line guard.
