Can anyone ID this small fixed spool reel?
I have never seen one before and it has no name, numbers or identifying markings on it at all.
A neighbour gifted it to me as it was unwanted. I have used it once, caught with it and I quite like it. It compliments my Alcocks 'Lightcaster' very well.

Re: Reel ID
That is an Olympic though sometimes labelled Compac or Hurricane but Olympic of Japan are the makers. Very similar though not identical to this pair :
Neat little reels I think.

Re: Reel ID
I like it! It seems to have 'borrowed' elements of several other reels but the end result is unusual but appealing, to me anyway!

Re: Reel ID
Thanks - definitly the genesis of my one.
It is very sweet in operation and the clutch is smooth now it has been cleaned and sparingly lubed.
Good information to be found here from knowledgeable members!

Re: Reel ID
They have a normal, relatively larger size spool and rotor/bale on an otherwise small, sometimes tiny (as in Bantam above) reel. Works better for me than a small spool/rotor etc on a small reel which can be very prone to excessive, close line coiling. Yours should be great for some light coarse fishing.
