Arbours for Grice and Young Reels

Post by Barbelseeker »

Gentleman,

Matt, aka Macman, kindly produce a 3D file for Speedia reels, and further went on to produce a file for a workable arbor for: (quote)

"I now have a workable arbour for Grice and Young narrow spool reels, it won’t fit very old reels, designed for 4.5 inch spools. Matchmaker, royal supreme gypsy Dor, Avon Royal, Aussie version. I will make the files available online this week.

Matt

Jack a local lad, has produced 2 sample copies of the above, but not having any of these reels, I cannot test it.

If anyone should be interested in testing and giving feedback on these before Jack commits to production, only 2 , so 2 volunteers wanted, we would be grateful. Normally these would be £4.50 plus postage but in this instance, I will cover the postage cost and units are free given your anticipated feedback.

Thanking you.

Me too. I have an Avon Royal, and two ARS reels one early Bronze with red detail and the later black one.

I suspect it could be “love”, despite its drawbacks in the rhyming department.

Liphook, Stathamender - please see your PM's of several days ago, requesting home addresses so that I can post these arbors etc. I need to get them off my desk.

My apologies to both, it would appear that it wasn't sent, perhaps didn't hit the submit button.

No probs. I've had PMs disappear in the past.

OK - you are on the list. I see if there are any more takers before he start printing. Others will be dispatched this weekend.

Finished doing my Speedia(s). Hardest part was getting the final joint to click together, so used a length of string and wrapped it around like a capstan. Had been trying to push together with fingers and thumbs for 3-4 minutes, but this sorted it out in 5 secs. Obviously applied equal pressure all around the drum.

Looking forward to seeing these in person! They are obviously a very good fit on the Spedia :Thumb: Is it necessary to apply tape to the edges to avoid line getting trapped down the side?
