Perhaps that was even then back in the day a bit posh for a for a roach fisher or maybe just not enough whippings
(looks about 200 short :holmes: ) for those south of Watford :Chuckle:
200 more whippings? what a waste of good thread. :Chuckle:

They got proper good cane in Redditch which didn't need to be held together by string! :Hahaha:

Phil, the original tip is greenheart in whole cane. I will put built cane in to make it a bit more carp proof.

Aitch, thanks mate, it should be as good to use as any other cane pole but they don't seem to have much of a following, considering they are Allcocks. Maybe there is a bit of the old "if it aint built in London it aint a proper pole".
Thanks Wal. When I read your post yesterday my broadband was a bit iffy and the page from the catalogue hadn’t downloaded! Look forward to seeing pictures of the restored pole mate.

:Chuckle: I must admit they do give the old wrist a good workout. Maybe they should be used for lockdown exercises.

I forgot to ask if anyone had one of the phosphor bronze revolving tip rings that is mentioned in the Allcocks description or even a picture of one.

As for the name Windsor, I will just write it on the cane. It cant be anything else as they only made this pole, as far as I can tell.

I can use my Milwards single handed... they are not that heavy, (although mine is only 4 sections) I love mine... I think its all down to balance...
