There is the number 21 stamped on the spool but no other markings

Elsewhere on this forum you will find evidence that Milwards made kit for Angling Services and that some Milwards kit bore the label “Milwards Services”, so I am guessing at a connection.

Thanks for that, in my opinion this is a Milward reel made in their Newark factory in the 1920's.

Angling Services imported the Pflueger Palo Mine lures and the two adverts below are from the Yorkshire Post 1937. They placed a couple of adverts and the newspaper gave them a favourable review.
