Traditional rod rests....
Hi, would anyone have any photos of what is classed as a traditional rod rest. I remember the thin wire ones where the top was bent into the shape of a Y, but I'm not sure that the rod rest has changed too much in design over the past forty years, or am I wrong.
Thanks

When we were kids we always used a forked stick taken from a tree, you cannot get more traditional than that.

My long time favourite is the old sturdy steel V painted black with red rubber on the V. Good on the toughest of banks, I had one for years, lost it last year and recently found another on eBay. Happy days!

Efgeeco rod rests were used by many but the rubber tops have become brittle with age on some.

I seem to remember saying how marvellous these rests were a while ago - but I’ll say it again they most certainly are - I’ve never seen anything quite like them growing in the garden of England mind but then I live in Norfolk - they are real beauties.
