Back in December 2011 there was a post regarding LEP, which included comments relating to the quality of the books called;
"The Little Egret Press"
where a few of us expressed similar opinions. It seems nothing has really changed since then...

Re: Chasing Chevin
I was selective about LEP books but won’t buy anymore after this. Aside from being ridden with their customary grammatical errors, the paper quality of the pages is appalling. As stated on another Forum, in this age of digital printing it is inexcusable. I also found the double column format immensely irritating, and ruined the reading experience. What was they thinking of?
LEP press releases claim books are “beautifully designed”. Well, that just beggars belief. Its basic select and slap on from a computer. Where’s the artistic imagination, innovation and flair of a good designer?
Oh, and apparently they’ve used the same cover image on 2 different books? What self-respecting publisher would do that? It’s all just lazy.
Totally concur; they need a competent proof-reader and graphic designer. Otherwise, more customers will turn away – which will be a shame because fishing needs good calibre book media. Perhaps they’re now churning out too many, or maybe we are more discerning than most? Hopefully, these criticisms will reverberate back to LEP and meet with a positive change in future output.

I agree with both sides of this thread! Yes it is good to have books on specialist (niche) subjects available from the likes of LEP. But the frequent printing and layout mistakes are very irritating and can even detract from what is being said. Could do better.

I grew up with the Grauniad and always enjoy finding typos.
I found a typo on page 204 of Nightwalk and am desperate for a chance to proof read his next, if it ever arrives!

Finding typos in tomorrow's chip-wrapper is one thing but there's no excuse for it in a book.
