High water chub

Just over six pounds - my scales are REALLY old and I rarely weigh a fish these days. Often I never take them from the water, unhooking them, if possible, in the net.

I had just put the rod down to wipe the raindrops from my glasses when the rod almost dissapeared down the bank. I managed to grab it before it went in and found a hard fighting - for two minutes -large chub well hooked in the scissors.

It was a nice fish and a PB but it was, if I am honest, an accidental catch.

I was after a big Perch............................
