Crucians such pretty fish but oh so finicky with bites:
But catch some decent sized beauties and this Fatty defies even the most cynical of anglers not to smile
Any way just a few images of wonder to brighten up a wet day.
As ever,.........

Re: Golden Wonder
I`ve never caught one. The local lake is supposed to hold them but no ones had any. Absolutely beautiful fish.

Re: Golden Wonder
Stunning Moley, well done.
Finicky bites? I’m not so certain. A couple of seasons ago my girlfriend “hooked” her first Crucian, a big one, whilst fishing a Crucian water I know. It didn’t fight particularly hard but as she drew it towards the landing net I was holding in the water, I realised it only had the tails of her 2 white maggots held in its lips. The hook was on the outside. It wasn’t hooked! Just before the net it let go, looked at us, turned and swam slowly away.
Finicky? No, the bars of gold are more intelligent than we are!

Just what we need. They always make me smile.
If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.

Re: Golden Wonder
Thanks for making me miserable Squire Mole, Crucians avoided me like the plague this summer.... hopefully to be rectified in '21. Your picture has revitalised my ambition.
