I have recently encountered a problem at our club lake. I normally target the roach and rudd. However, the lake contains a rather large head of carp. To this point catching the odd one "by mistake" hasn't been much of a problem. I have been using my scoop net to land them. However, the carp are getting to a size (double figures) where they no longer fit. This in itself isn't an issue as I have two traditional net heads big enough. My problem is that I don't really like landing roach in these deep nets. The solution is to take two nets. Not ideal but sensible. Therefore, I knocked up a roach specific net pole. Cork handle, whipped ala early Lucky strike, with silk, like the nodes. The butt cap is the top of a port or sherry bottle! It is 5'4" long. Should do the trick.
