Today chaps would have been Peter Stone's Birthday. Peter was born in 1927 and sadly died on his birthday in 2000, he was 73 years old.

I shall be raising a port this evening, in a glass engraved with the image of a barbel.

Another person who inadvertently helped me along no end through my childhood with his marvellous Gravel Pit Angling book.
It was such a honour when I eventually met him and he turned out to be one of the nicest people you could meet.
I may be raising the mug tonight as I have been off the glass for a while.
