Information on Rings

Post by Ajsrider »

I have just aquired a 12ft Aero 892 in good condition with wood/cork stoppers and original bag.

However one of the bronze high bells life rings is rusty and i cant seem to find a stockist anywhere (3/4 high with a 7/32 i/d) can any one help please?
Also the tip ring has been replaced and it does not look like a copy of the the original, so does any one have a picture of the original Tip Ring. (The ring is a clear ceramic / plastic)
I have just noticed that there was a keeper ring just above the handle that has been broken off so a picture of that would also be most helpful.

I cant wait to sort it all out and get it fishing again so any advice and help would be greatlly appreciated.

Thanks

You have a fine and collectable rod there. They are hollow-built and do suffer from delamination so check it thoroughly before you work on it, lest your efforts are wasted.
here is an image of delamination...not that easy to see, but put a bend in the rod and bang!

Chapmans of Ware should have both the line guide and hook-keeper you need
