MKIV Carp version but no 'carp' label

Post by Lucky Strike »

I have seen a B James MKIV which I'm told is the carp version,
however it doesn't have carp written on it.
Were there models made that just bore the Walker and B James transfers but no indication of
wether it was the avon or carp version? Thanks in advance LS.

both my mk1v avon and carp have there badges, but do not state carp or avon, but i think the carp is slightly shorter than the avon if my memory serves me and has a thicker tip section 10ft -2inches for the avon and 1o-ft for the carp. best wishes chubman.

I don't think they ever had the word 'carp' on them..though some of the copies from other makers did.

There was the Mark IV, then the Mark IV Avon and later the Mark IV Stepped-up, which just had S/U written on it, I think.

I have all three rods and that is what is written on them so I will second that ditto.
