My Floatcaster Deluxe
Last year I purchased a Floatcaster De-Luxe rod from Steve Middleton (TradtionalAngling). I decided to send it straight to Paul Cook to give it a complete overhall along with some loving care and attention. After some deliberation I decided to opt for a garnet coloured whipping as I was not very fond of the blue whipping that normally is on these rods. It was really a toss up between garnet and a dark green and the garnet won.
The rod also has new ferules and new rings throughout, Paul also whipped some extra intermediate whippings which I think have given the rod a bit of extra character.
It was only yesterday that I saw the rod for the first time and already I have fallen in love with it. On Saturday I shall couple my 1920's Aerial to the rod and go a roving for the chub.
Please see the before and after pictures below.
Thank you Paul you have done a wonderful job.

Wow, great work Mr Cook. Hope you get a Chevin on the end of her on the weekend.

Paul revamped a couple of Chapman 500s for me some time ago - always excellent work and the rod really looks magnificent in red!
