Black Prince
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

It certainly is ... I have 3 of them. Thanks Luca.

Re: Black Prince
My first fixed spool reel.
I still have one and the sound of the bail arm closing takes me straight back to boyhood. :D

Note the Gladding tie-up. The same outfit who bought into Edgar Sealey in Redditch.
Sealeys disappeared, but Intrepid continued on as British Fly Reels, until being bought out and closed down by Orvis only recently.
It's hard to forgive American big business!

Re: Black Prince
My first reel as well. I remember having to position the bale arm to get just enough momentum to knock it over when it went past the stem. I was forever getting the line caught behind the spool. £2.45 mine cost. Bought Saturday March 8, 1975 at Gallions Cambridge. Not sure if I've still got it. I never really got on with it and was much relieved when my dad bought me a small Mitchell.
