Thanks for the update, good to hear you've left some of the existing organic matter in as I once witnessed a small lake drained and every last drop of silt pumped out. It then suffered years of algal blooms and water quality issues.
Never test the depth of the water with both feet.

Exactly that Greg!!! There is a major spring there and the force of water is just incredible! We will be working in that area next week but I can easily imagine a huge pit in the lake bed scoured out by the force of the spring... Interestingly items been a real summer hotshot for me....

This explains why the monsters went years without being seen.
