The rod has got a bent ring as well as a bit of a set due to a tight/ shrunken bag so I decided to replace the bent ring, turn the tip and redo the rest of the whippings apart from the inters.
It really is a quality rod and fittings, the ferrules are numbered and the cane is built up to fit them. The other surprising thing was the handle is built on split cane and not alloy tube.

Quite pleased with the results especially as I didn't have to use preserver on the whips so they have a translucency about them that looks nice in the sunshine.

I was thinking of selling it as when I bought it I was really looking for something of the like the James version but now I'm not so sure.
