Cork boiling!
There's nothing like a session of cork boiling to clear the head!

Re: Cork boiling!
I was looking for a cork this afternoon. I went through the the shelves in our local shop, only one wine bottle without a screw top. When I opened the bottle it was composite cork. I think I may have drink a lot of wine to find a natural cork!

Re: Cork boiling!
My son manages a large bar in London, I would think I could get as many as were wanted. I have just text him to say I will have as many as he can get.
Thanks

Re: Cork boiling!
Nigel,
I’m three years retired now, but two companies that I used for cork products were C.Olley of Mildenhall and Amorim UK of Horsham.
Olley’s website is under construction, and Amorim’s is a vast corporate site, but a telephone call to either of these companies might ease your burden - if it doesn’t, I’ll apologise profusely.
Kind Regards
Phil

Re: Cork boiling!
If you boil corks (particularly champagne) you take out the shaping. It gives a more even profile. I stick mine in a bowl of water and microwave them for a few minutes.Barbelseeker wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2019 6:48 pm Question, why should you boil cork, what is achieved?
