Re: FTW on ebay
I managed to copy the pic shown of the Forecarp shown as sold at Cheffins in 2006 ... There are no other pictures shown.

Re: FTW on ebay
Just looked at the Cheffin rod picture and the eBay one. FTW changed the spelling of Forecarp to it appears?
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

It may be my eyes, of course (I am getting old, you know ... dodder ... dodder)... but it does look as though the ebay pic shows the spelling "Forcarp" while the description states "Forecarp."

Re: FTW on ebay
I found on the net FT Williams forcarp cane rod sold at Bonhams 2005 for £23. I have sent a number of questions to this seller on a number of rods but something always stops me bidding though.
Feedback has normally been very good.

Re: FTW on ebay
So, the rod did exist then, though we appear to have some spelling anomalies. This is why I always encourage folk to restore rods to original spec when they are rare, or one day we'll have no idea what they used to look like.
It also appears the Foravon was around for some time as there are a few with both transfer styles and some more with anodised reel bands and other furniture. Only Rodrill and Williams seem to have gone down this route and I'd guess it dates those rods to the very late Sixties, maybe even early Seventies.
None of these images show an second butt ring, though.....

It's probably just an artefact of the photography, but, is that rod four-sided?AshbyCut wrote:I managed to copy the pic shown of the Forecarp shown as sold at Cheffins in 2006 ...

Sold for just shy of £80, not sure what that says about it though?
