It is surprising how quickly a wooden bench or seat can deteriorate, when exposed to the elements. I hope that this special seat can be be restored to last for many more years! Well done Mal! :Hat:

Thanks for the update and what a pleasing result. The seat, again looks marvellous, hats off to all concerned especially Darren :Hat:

Great to see this story has a happy ending. It's a bit of traditional fishing history and as such deserves to be preserved.
I used to fish Wierwood Reservoir when it first opened for coarse fishing. It used to be one of the best big roach still waters in the south east. I fished it using a Milbro Coral Maestro rod (hence my moniker) and a 14" 3SSG waggler to combat the large waves. The biggest problem was avoiding the numerous trout which would happily take bread or corn!
What do they know of fishing who know only one fish and one way to fish for him?

Harvey Torbett was a well-respected angler from South London, he also taught angling in a local school during the winter evening, gave up a lot of time helping junior anglers RIP
