Small but full of character

Post by Keston »

I didnt have many Youngs fixed spool reels , but my small Ambidex /Duco group had a big boost last week with two early reels . I like the character , they ooze charm carrying their wear with pride .

Hi Keston,
A lovely hand of early Ambidex/Duco reels that although showing some wear are as usable as when they were made.

This was probably about 60-70 years ago, and I can see no reason why this set should not double that.

You can imagine Mr Crabtree having a selection of these reels in his tackle room, in those atmospheric works by Bernard Venables.

Nostalgia by the netful! I must get get me a few, I rather like the look of the Duco, at top left.

Regards Tom.

A nice collection John, I think as we get older our nostalgia definitely increases! :Hat:

Thanks for the comments chaps , funny thing , but I was thinking of posting and asking if anyone had an early one with engraved numbers for sale or if anyone knew their value , quite by chance two came up for sale .
