Going Bros S.O.S

Do you know of a good traditional fishing tackle shop, past and present.

I was 11 years old.
Anyone remember Charlie Hoy's tackle shop down one of the side streets, before you got to "Goings?
I remember fishing Priory Park for carp and entering into a conversation with the "Parky" complete with gold rimmed peaked cap who " suggested" that I should get off his island.

When a carp was hooked most of the other carp used to follow right up to the net.

Hope you're still around Pallenpool since I not only remember 'going to Goings' with Dad and my brother, but today this pic came up on a Southend group of the shop itself prior to demolishment to make way for the Royals shopping centre. Much wailing and gnashing of teeth amongst the fishermen...xx

Or alternatively, you can get them from TFF Ted! 👌👍😀

Did they sell Sea gear as well? I have a vague recollection of them advertising in Sea Angler for in particular Conoflex blanks and built rods.
