Bring out your green visor photos!

Post by Tengisgol »

Come on gents, let’s do this properly, you’ve all got one hanging around somewhere because we all wanted to be one of the Likely Lads like Roy Marlow (here he is):

and here I am over the Cow Pond in 1979:

Come on Lads, show us your visor photos!

Nothing better for blocking out a bit of light, it eases eye strain which helps visibility and concentration. It also made me look quite dashing (well, I think so) and I haven't changed a bit since then

Can't find mine although I seem to have pics of all my fishing buddies wearing theirs. Waders turned down so that they looked like giant flares were also de rigeur in our neck of the woods. Along with an enormous parka so absorbent it could keep the lower Thames within its banks in all but the worst rainfall. :Hide:
These are the Golden Years. Don't waste them.

1983 on the Grand Union Canal just above Foxton Locks.

And the turned down waders pic, about the same year.

The most precious places in the English landscape are those secretive corners,
where you find only elder trees, nettles and dreams. (BB - Denys Watkins-Pitchford).

There is a bit of rod hold-all envy there - Stephen’s of Birmingham five tube I reckon - although I did pick one up recently from a Forum member to complete my eighties outfit so I am happy with that now.

This gave me a good laugh! Sorry, I can't oblige with a photo, but I too owned and wore one circa 1983.
