A Staffordshire Gudgeon.

Post by Catfish.017 »

Curiously, after replying to Bob Brooke's Perch post this morning and talking about Gudgeon, I went to the canal this morning and caught one, my first since moving here more than a year ago. It was a species I was expecting to encounter frequently but sadly they seem quite rare, possibly because of the Zander? Although there are plenty of Perch here too.it's just as well the little 'Gonk' came along as it saved yet another blank! The malais continues? My neighbour, his lad and a companion came along lure fishing . Three rods, three miles nothing to show. Pretty desperate.

I bet they would have caught if they had used your gudgeon :surrender:

Yep I think that might have made a difference. I did, very briefly consider using it myself but couldn't bring myself to do it, particularly as it was the only fish to brighten this rather murky day!
