Welcome to the Forum Martin.
Not a fish was visible that first time I visited Beechmere; an utter
stillness brooded over the place and I felt the strange and sinister atmosphere which, so the story goes,
has been the cause of several suicides.’

Welcome aboard Martin, although the Dorset Stour is my beloved. I have venture further afield to Wood Green, Shallows Farm, Hale Park and Britford on the Avon for the odd jaunty. Wishing your tight lines in the New Year.

Thank you all again for the kind words.
If I had joined last year I could have told you about my first 20 on a fly and the very angry 29:8 cock fish on a trotted prawn finally landed on an Allcocks T5 attached to the rod via an “adapter cast”two days I will never forget.
