Weir product decal
Hi all,
Just purchased a 3 piece, 11 foot Avon style rod.
The decal is mainly missing, but it has been deciphered as a “weir product” rod.
I must say, I do like the original decal, after looking at other rods on eBay.
The rod needs a full refurb. Does anyone have a good picture of the decal, that I could have copies of to make a decal from?
Cheers
Steve

I have a Wier rod with a full very good logo, I will post a pic tomorrow morning.
If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.

Re: Weir product decal
Weir Products seems to have been a temporary trading name of R G Edwards who were also the owners of Black Seal Products, who were registered at the same address in Carshalton, Surrey.
They sold Black Seal plugs, rods and reels using two different logos...a black package wax seal and ...a black seal on an iceberg!
I don't know too much about them except for several addresses around Carshalton and nearby Wallington, eventually a final address in Brixton.
There used to be a blog post by John Andrews saying they started out as two brothers selling tackle out of the back of a van.
It might be still in here somewhere....

Re: Weir product decal
Nice rods, I have got two of their spinning rods both nine foot in length and one a lot heavier in test curve than the other. Both of them pull carp and large Eels out with ease. They have a lovely through action and the test curves would be something like 3lb Tc and perhaps 4lb plus Tc pease show us some pics when your done.
