CountryFile podcast with Chris Yates

Post by Kev Parr »

Hi All

This might well be of interest. I recorded a podcast with Chris Yates in mid-March for CountryFile Magazine. There's a bit of fishing chat, but more words about hares, hen harriers and turnips. And he was in fine form...

kev, many thanks. I will listen fully later with the headphones on.

Do you use any additional software such as audacity to enrich the bird song? I did buy a hand held recording device, but I found using an old mobile and recording in a wave file was just as good, then tweaking the files with software.

If there are any other episodes you have recorded please let us know, very enjoyable to listen to.

Thans Leigh. I just use a mobile phone with a little microphone lead attached. It isn't ideal for human voices but seems to pick up the birdsong really well.

I keep meaning to make a parabolic reflector and see how that works. I've seen a few people make them out of mixing bowls which is pretty ingenious...

Wonderful! Well up to your usual standard Kev and a delight to hear the unmistakeable voice and youthful exuberance of Chris.
