The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!

I saw John Burrett's name again which reminded me - possibly again! That he wrote for the Angling Times Series - "Freshwater Fishing The Lower Thames" .

Alan Pearson wrote several Trout books and "Gravel Pit Angling" in the same series as above.

There are some great writers Olly, and what enormous pleasure they give !!
Trouble is, the fish just don't read the books......
