can anyone say when the use of the brass cap stamped "Allcocks Redditch" was ended ?

My impression is that the brass caps were used up until WW2, but after the war they went over to aluminium.

They seem to be on every Allcocks Lightcaster especially the ones with the screw reel fitting. Not sure of dates for these rods but they were still available in the 60s.
These rods were bought in and resold by many other makers of course but the butt caps were blank.

Thanks fellas ---- i have a few brass capped Allcocks , including pre war , but none have the "Allcocks" stamp. my guess is pre 1935 but i can offer nowt to prove it
